The Future Application of Technology in the Classroom

Image
I think in the future I can effectively use elements of Educational Technology directly in the classroom to reorient the learning process and address the issue of disengagement. With the help of ICT, I can produce multisensory lessons which provide the students with the opportunity for multiple ways of approaching content, such as videos, quizzes, or virtual simulations. This would help address issues to do with learning rates and styles; thus enhancing the efficiency of the learning process in its bid to offer solutions to a crucial need that centres on making education as accessible as possible for as many learners as possible. Besides, engaging in platform-based communication using Google Classroom or LMS can help to organize the communication process, submission of the assignments and the feedback received from students to analyze their progress. I could also apply other CS, including the use of online forum discussions, shared documents or work assignments in groups, all to e...

Challenges and limitations of Educational Technology

Image
The first problem I encountered while learning and applying educational technology was the variety of resources and platforms. At times, it became quite challenging to determine, which ones would be most suitable for my learning methods employed. Moreover, there were some technical problems that I faced throughout my learning process, including connectivity problems and incompatibility of different software. What is more, the use of new tools was time-consuming as I had to get used to different options and interfaces. Also, the last of the critical challenges was dealing with interferences when employing digital resources aimed at learning because it is sometimes difficult to stay focused on the program and not switch to either some other application or, at least, check the news on social media.

My Experience in Educational Technology course

Image
Throughout the semester, I noted how Educational Technology is infused in groups of learning activities in several ways. I engaged in online classes through the use of Teams Classroom and made use of other forms of learning tools to access other resources, post content and even submit my assignments. Viewing typical educational videos and tutorials on the Internet – such as on YouTube – was beneficial for learning English and getting much more informed about a rich spectrum of subjects. Also, immersed myself in virtual tours and online resources to ‘’walk around’ and taste different cultures and concepts. Edtech also offered an unstructured and interactive platform for reaching for educational materials, and generally honing my learning abilities more flexibly.

Online classrooms in Oman

Image
Flexible classes in Oman have grown tremendously over the years and even more so after the COVID-19 outbreak with the government and schools embracing technology in learning. To ensure K-12 students had access to lessons, assignments and teacher interaction, during school closures, the Ministry of Education (MoE) developed platforms such as Darsak. In the same way, learning management systems such as Moodle, and Google Classroom are viewed and used in managing learning by universities, and private schools respectively. The government vision for Oman 2040 focuses on the adoption of ICT in the education sector whereby virtual class plays a critical role in the development of a knowledge-based economy. Often I find that challenges persist in private institutions and universities where they adopt virtual classrooms, including the issues with digital access where rural learners may lack access to the requisite devices and connectivity. Some attempts are being made to overcome them through t...

Time Management skill for Teachers

Image
Teacher’s time must be well managed to divide it between carrying out instructions, tasks, and other duties and projects. It involves categorizing tasks by their importance and their urgency with some tools such as the Eisenhower Matrix used to determine what to work on. Teachers should have daily or weekly planners including lesson preparation, grading, and meetings with little extra time for unexpected tasks. One way is to set short-term goals as well as long-term goals since this means a large project is divided into small ones Another way is delegation of the tasks to others if it is too much work with colleagues or students. Technology integrates a significant into the processes of teaching and learning, including lesson planning, and grading systems. Teachers should minimize themselves getting involved in other activities as it affects the teachers’ performance. Other factors include creating barriers to avoid external interruptions and being able to refuse to do unnecessary...

Objectives of Studying Educational Technology

Image
Develop Technological Proficiency: Teacher competencies require them to effectively utilize technology, pedagogy and content knowledge for purposes of engagement through the use of instructional tools, including learning management platforms, education-related applications and multimedia content. Improve Pedagogical Skills: Technology is not about incorporation into teaching but the utilization of technology in enhancing the lesson delivery process. This also involves developing the ability to incorporate technology in the lessons, assessments and activities that support student learning. Foster Digital Literacy: Teachers educate to make students responsible and efficient technocrats of society to enable them to search, collaborate and communicate through the internet and other related technologies. Understand Emerging Technologies: Such technologies as AI, VR, AR, and analytics and how they can change the conventional models of courses as well as recent advancements in educa...

Assessment system in Oman

Image
The Oman assessment system provides an assessment of the performance of every student by periodic tests Quizlet Check and examination at the end of the semester. Formative arsenal composed of tests, assignments, group projects and so on checks the understanding of the student during the academic year at primary and secondary levels. The end-of-term tests which are normally taken at the end of each term are important in promoting students’ cumulative grades. At the higher education level, the universities embrace the system of educational activities using coursework, practical tests, as well as final tests. The intended purpose of the system is to foster critical thinking and an understanding of problem situations and contexts that are as comprehensive as possible; recent measures to introduce digital technologies and AI into the assessment process are taken to increase the reliability of the assessments undertaken.
